Greetings from Brecksville United Church of Christ.
   
       The Heidelberg College Concert Choir, under the direction of Dr. Grant W. Cook III, will perform on Sunday, November 11 at 4:00 at Brecksville United Church of Christ, 23 Public Square. The performance is free and open to the public. A free will offering will be received, and a spaghetti and meatball supper will follow the program.
       The Choir will perform, among others, works by Johann Ernst Eberlin, Heinrich Schutz, Franz Schubert, Kenneth Jennings, Bob Chilcott and Rene Clausen. The program will also feature traditional settings of American hymns and spirituals. In addition, the Heidelberg Chamber Singers will perform works by Antonio Salieri, Morten Lauridsen and Daniel Pederson.
       Since its inception in 1938, the Heidelberg Concert Choir has achieved the distinction of being one of the outstanding collegiate choral ensembles in the Midwest, touring extensively throughout the United States and Europe. In his eleventh year as conductor, Dr. Cook (Class of '89) has continued to build upon the longstanding tradition of choral excellence at Heidelberg. Under his direction, the Choir has performed at state and regional meetings of the American Choral Directors Association and Music Educators National Conference, premiered works by the prominent American composers Daniel E. Gawthrop and John V. Mochnick, and appeared in concert at Washington National Cathedral. In February, the Choir will perform at the 2008 Ohio Music Education Association Professional Conference in Cincinnati.

  Parking is available one block south of Route 82 off Arlington. Brecksville UCC is an Open and Affirming, Just Peace congregation. The church is handicapped accessible at the south entrance off the parking lot.
