 JOIN FOR SACRED MUSIC CONCERTs

featuring harp and organ

 

Cleveland, Ohio - April 2008:   Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Heights and Mayfield United Methodist Church in Chesterland will present a joyous concert series of sacred music. On Saturday, April 19, the group performs at 3:30 p.m. at Mayfield United Methodist Church, 7747 Mayfield Road in Chesterland. The concert is presented again on Sunday, April 20 at 3:30 p.m. at Church of the Saviour, 2537 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights.   

The program includes the "Fauré Requiem" directed by Betty-Ann Lynerd, Music Director at Mayfield UMC and the seldom-heard "The Lord's Prayer (Otcenás)" by Leos Janácek, conducted by Judith Higbee, Director of Music at Church of the Saviour. Both works feature renowned harpist Jody Guinn. Soloists include Jill Pappenhagen, soprano; Evan Bescan, tenor; and Robert Woods, baritone. Organist responsibilities will be shared by Carol Neff from Mayfield UMC and Robert Day from Church of the Saviour.

Both concerts are free and open to the community.
