Tom Trenney, winner of the AGO National Competition in
Organ Improvisation, will bring to life Harold Lloyd’s
silent film Speedy on Sunday afternoon, February 24 at
3pm in Hayden Auditorium on the Hiram College campus.

In the 1928 film shot on location in New York City,
“Speedy” loses his job as soda-jerk and spends the day
with his girl at Coney Island. Then, he becomes a cab
driver and delivers the real Babe Ruth to Yankee
Stadium. When
the railroad tries to run the last horse-drawn trolley
out of business, Speedy organizes the old timers to
challenge them. The hair-raising cab ride through
Manhattan and many other scenes allow Trenney ample
opportunity to display his fantastic skills of organ
improvisation.

A native of Perry, Ohio, Trenney is a graduate of the
Cleveland Institute of Music and the Eastman School of
Music.

This Hiram Community Trust event for
all ages is free and open to the public.
