Trinity UCC in Canton, Ohio is known for its fine music ministry, with choral and instrumental music supporting and magnifying the worship experience. This vibrant, music loving congregation is seeking a
Director of Music and Organist/accompanist. These positions could be filled by one or two people. The Director of Music (approximately 25 – 28hours a week) is responsible for directing the vocal and handbell choirs as well as providing organ music and accompaniment. The Organist/Accompanist (12-15 hours per week) will provide music for the worship service on our unmatched 4 manual, 61 rank Schantz organ, as
well as accompaniment for the choir. The Music Director of Choirs (approximately 15-20 hours per week) is responsible for selecting music and leading the vocal and handbell choirs. The person or persons that fills these positions will be responsible for carrying on the excellent tradition of a fine music ministry at Trinity UCC. You are the right candidate if you have experience leading church choirs, directing handbells, and/or playing proficiently on the organ and piano. Strong communication skills are a must as well as willingness to work with other staff and imagine new opportunities for the music ministry.

Sanctuary Organist, First Church, Congregational UCC in Painesville, Ohio. Main duties are to play for Sunday Worship (10 AM Each Sunday), special worship services such as Christmas Eve and during Holy Week, as well as playing for weddings and funerals as they arise. The Sanctuary Organist plays September-May of each year, with an Associate Organist who plays in the summer, June-August. The Sanctuary Organist also accompanies choir rehearsals which are at 9 AM each Sunday. Compensation is $10-11,000 per year. Kantor Position, St. Peter’s Lutheran (LCMS), Shaker Heights.   Part time position (about 12 hours/week).  Plans, prepares, and leads music for worship from organ. Selections are in consultation with pastor. Provides information as needed for service bulletins, newsletters, etc. No ongoing choir, but option for special occasion choirs.  Right of refusal for occasional services.  Kantor determines fee for these occasions.  May arrange for additional musicians for special occasions.  Arranges substitutes musicians when not available or on vacation (4 weeks per year).
